I've been having some strange dreams lately. The night before last I dreamed of vampires, not any vampires we know, just some generic vampire stalking a woman. Last night I had two long, frustrating dreams. In the first I was taking a math exam, never mind that it's been nearly 30 years since I was in grad school. I showed up late and they didn't have any more exam papers left, so I had to make due with an exam printed on black paper that I could barely read. The exam was being given in some meeting room in a hotel and the lighting was also bad. They had about 20 type of mood lighting, but nothing I could actually see with. Then the math exam didn't seem to have any math in it. It mostly had to do with the French Revolution with questions that actually seemed designed to find out if I was a liberal or conservative. And it went on forever. I'm sure this dream means something, if I had any clue about that sort of thing.

In the other dream, I dreamt that my oldest daughter, who is 15 now, was 18 and getting married right after graduating from high school. She was marrying some pasty, white bread kind of guy and they were going to live with his older sister and work in his family's business. As in real life, confronted with this scenario, I was none too happy about it. I don't know why in the dream I never played the college card, but I did beg her to use birth control because I didn't give this marriage more than two years. Egad, I'd rather dream about vampires.
